February Destin Fishing Report:
Our first trip in February was booked by clients from St. Louis. They booked a bay fishing charter for the day! On a bay fishing charter, we fish the Choctawhatchee Bay and surrounding area waters. This particular day, they wanted to aim for Sheepshead to take home. We definitely put them on some Sheepshead! During the time of their charter, Destin had quite a cold front coming in. The weather was brutal as we fished the Bay.
Another trip during the month of February was a group trip with Capt. Mac and myself. We took a group from Alabama into the Gulf. The weather was definitely a lot warmer this time; more like Florida!! Mr. Wood caught a Red Fish in 70′ of water in the Gulf of Mexico with his son. We impressed Mr. Wood so much that he said he’ll be coming back year after year.
Being that it is March, we are hoping that the warm weather stays around. Dropping into freezing temperatures as many times as it did this winter, we are definitely ready for the Florida sunshine and summer season.
