Black Drum in Destin

My wife and I very seldom get to enjoy time together, much less, time together on the water. We have two daughters, age 6 year and the other, 5 months old. Our five month old does not sleep, we have no idea how we are both still functioning. We both run our companies and pull through on household chores, errands, and the endless soccer games/after school activities of our six year old. Grandma and Grandpa allowed us an afternoon of fishing on Sunday and as luck would have it, we were dodging storms. Within five minutes of arriving to the Brooks Bridge in Fort Walton Beach, we were on Black Drum like crazy! We used live Shrimp as bait, cast our lines into the water, and within two minutes my wife had a bite. She reeled in like a champ on her first ever Black Drum. We caught four Black Drum in Destin  before the dome cloud started closing in over the Choctawhatchee Bay. You could see the storm for miles as it approached us. We decided to cut our afternoon fishing short and head back in.

Overall the weather was warm enough for a light jacket, but it was windy. The current was somewhat choppy, but not enough to pull the line too far away. My wife was extremely happy and thankful for the time together and to be out on the water! Black Drum are on fire right now! Call to reserve your Destin fishing charter today at 850-226-3127!

Tight Lines,
