Destin Fishing Report as of March 28, 2018

Some information gathered from Half Hitch.

The heat has turned on for majority of the spring species!

Trolling; Near Shore: You can expect King Mackerel in the 50-125 FT. depths using live Cigar Minnows, Troll Yozuri and Rapalla plugs with 4-6 oz trolling lead. Spanish Mackerel can be caught using straw rigs and Black Fin Tuna on Cedar plugs trilled behind a bird.

Bottom Fishing: Bottom fishing is beginning to heat up. You can expect to chum for Black Snapper or some frozen Squid over wrecks, Mingo Snapper and Trigger Fish over natural bottom in depths 80-150 FT.

Inshore Gulf Fishing/Jetties: You can expect Pompano on Sand Fleas, Whiting, Sheepshead, and the occasional Red Fish. Several Mako Sharks have been caught.

Bay Fishing: Sheepshead on live Shrimp, Oysters, Fiddler Crabs, or scrapping the pilings at the Brooks Bridge or Destin Bridge. Red Fish and Black Drum are also around the bridges and channels throughout Destin and the intercoastal waterway.

We have had multiple fishing charters this week; all hooked up to something different!
